Rhonda Hammers Adams, Vocals & Bass, was born and raised in Southern Illinois and comes from a very musical family. She began playing piano by ear at age 3. She also sang and harmonized at an early age. At age 12, she briefly picked up guitar then moved to bass to fill a gap in her family's traveling Christian band. She spent most of her adult life around the Chicago area. Her experience includes solo work as well as choruses, small groups and bands. She has an outstanding ear for music and perfect pitch and has recently begun writing.
Rhonda is a powerful and captivating vocalist. Her voice has been described as “the voice of an angel”. From Jewel to Janice, she demonstrates a variety of vocal styles.
Russ Adams, Vocals and Guitar, is a highly skilled acoustic guitar player who began guitar and voice instruction at the age of 6. Born and raised in Chicago, Russ paid his dues and developed his style performing on the streets. He is now a full time resident of Anna Maria Island, Florida.
Like a 1-man band, he simultaneously covers rhythm, bass and signature leads. Russ’s passionate playing and singing style coupled with his explosive precision will freak you out.
Russ & Rhonda have been together since July 2001 and married since November 2005. They quickly built up an impressive reputation and repertoire and were warmly received by audiences everywhere as an acoustic duo. They spent years traveling back and forth from Illinois to Florida and are now full time residents of Holmes Beach, Florida.
The addition of Joe Nuzback on drums in April 2008 completed the band and has not only opened new doors for them, it has taken their music to a new level.
Joe Nuzback, Drums, was born and raised in New York’s capital district, where he played with the extremely successful band “Northern Star” which opened for many acts such as Johnny Winter & Joan Jett.
Relocating to Florida in the 80’s, Joe’s groove was solidified while playing with Sarasota based top 40 dance bands.
More recently, you could find Joe playing blues, being house drummer for blues jams both in Bradenton and Sarasota as well as stints with Johnny Rawls. “Hammers-Adams Band” with its dynamic music variety allows him to incorporate all styles into his playing.
